The clock only said 5:30 when my eyes opened up on Saturday morning and my stomach was all a fuss. In just three short hours, my feet would hit the pavement to run my very first 5K. Having trained for over seven months, I knew I was ready. But when I arrived at our local park I wasn’t so sure. But ready or not, here the race came.
Summer is upon us and I couldn’t be more excited! I really don’t think I have a “favorite” season, but I definitely have my favorite parts about each season. As for summer, I love sitting in the sun, eating ice cream with friends, and of course vacation! My parents decided this year that for Christmas they wanted to give us a family vacation up in the sticks of northern Wisconsin!
As promised, I am here to show you some fun lifestyle images this week. But first, lets start with some introductions shall we? You are about to meet the Gesink family. As I sit here I am trying to honestly remember the first time I met the Gesink family, because they are the kind of family that no matter how long you have known them, it feels like you’ve known them forever. Do you know what I mean? As soon as you get to know them, they just envelop you and take you in as one of their own. Their family is full of crazy amounts of energy and creativity and their hearts hold nothing but joy and love. We have done all kinds of fun photoshoots with their family but when Kristi contacted me about doing this lifestyle session, my heart smiled wide.
One of my nieces very first sentences was, “What’s that?” Â And literally she would point at EVERYTHING and say, “What’s that?” Â So if you were going to babysit her you would constantly be identifying object after object. Â And so it made me wonder if maybe you were cruising my website and saw something about lifestyle photography and thought…what’s that? Â Just as I did for my niece, I will do my best to explain!
There has been a small baby boom over here at Creatyd! Â So fun right? Â And to top it off, they have all been girls! Â So, over the past few weeks I have gotten to photograph these sweet faces and I just thought I should share all this adorableness with you!
Hi friends! Â In case you missed it, spring has officially arrived in Iowa and I couldn’t be more excited! Â I think this season will continue to blow my mind because out of what looks like a dead tree, new life literally bursts out in the form of buds. Â Seriously, unbelievable right? Â It reminds me of this verse from 2 Corinthians 5:17 which says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, THE NEW HAS COME!” Â Love that, and I love me some spring! Â Here is just a snippet of what spring looks like through my lens. Â Have a great day!
A proclaimed natural light photographer I am. Â But what does that really mean? Â
If you haven’t already figured out from this blog, I am a not-so-subtle fan of holidays.  And I don’t usually discriminate against any certain holidays.  But I must admit, I have my favorites. Â
My car pulled up to that same apartment at College Square where I moved in with my blonde-haired friend.  Days later, I began my first semester at Hawkeye Community College.  If we’re being honest, my first semester wasn’t as full of the magic I was hoping for. Â
