is that a fox?
“She looks just like a fox!” Â I can’t even tell you how many times I hear that after people have met Lucy for the first time. Â I realized the other day that I had briefly mentioned Lucy HERE on my website, but thought it was high time for a formal introduction. Â
Dogs have been such a big part of my life, especially during my childhood. Â Our family had a small kennel and raised a few breeds of dogs. Â Most can’t believe it, but one of my chores that I earned an allowance for doing was playing with each litter of puppies. Â I mean seriously, earn money, to play with puppies? Â Ok deal. Â So I think it’s only natural that after I got married that I would want a dog. Â Therefore, I began the discussion with my husband who honestly wasn’t super interested. Â So after about three years, I started to lose hope. Â Then one day, I remember as clear as day, I was sitting at my desk as I am now and my phone rang. Â It was my husband. Â He told me that he had been shopping for my birthday present a little early and needed my help picking it out. Â As he was talking to me, he sent me an email with pictures of puppies attached. Â I thought it was a joke, but he reassured me he was serious and that we were getting a puppy for my birthday; we just had to pick out which one from the litter we wanted. Â Internally I was freaking out, but remained composed enough to pick one. Â About four weeks later Lucy’s breeder handed her over to me, all three pounds of her. Â Today, that three pounds has grown into fifteen pounds of pure joy. Â Kyle and I have absolutely fallen in love with this little dog that looks just like a fox. Â Some of my friends, call me the “crazy dog lady” because I just like her that much I guess! Â But in my defense, there are worse things to love right? Â 🙂
Anyways, here she is…our little Lucy.
