is that a fox?
“She looks just like a fox!”  I can’t even tell you how many times I hear that after people have met Lucy for the first time.  I realized the other day that I had briefly mentioned Lucy HERE on my website, but thought it was high time for a formal introduction. ÂÂ
Dogs have been such a big part of my life, especially during my childhood.  Our family had a small kennel and raised a few breeds of dogs.  Most can’t believe it, but one of my chores that I earned an allowance for doing was playing with each litter of puppies.  I mean seriously, earn money, to play with puppies?  Ok deal.  So I think it’s only natural that after I got married that I would want a dog.  Therefore, I began the discussion with my husband who honestly wasn’t super interested.  So after about three years, I started to lose hope.  Then one day, I remember as clear as day, I was sitting at my desk as I am now and my phone rang.  It was my husband.  He told me that he had been shopping for my birthday present a little early and needed my help picking it out.  As he was talking to me, he sent me an email with pictures of puppies attached.  I thought it was a joke, but he reassured me he was serious and that we were getting a puppy for my birthday; we just had to pick out which one from the litter we wanted.  Internally I was freaking out, but remained composed enough to pick one.  About four weeks later Lucy’s breeder handed her over to me, all three pounds of her.  Today, that three pounds has grown into fifteen pounds of pure joy.  Kyle and I have absolutely fallen in love with this little dog that looks just like a fox.  Some of my friends, call me the “crazy dog lady” because I just like her that much I guess!  But in my defense, there are worse things to love right?  🙂
Anyways, here she is…our little Lucy.
